I. Visa/Residence Permit for China

Every foreigner must have a valid passport and visa/residence permit to stay in China. Please ensure your passport and visa/residence permit do not expire.

Foreigners living in China should register the accommodation address at the local police station within 24 hours after moving into a new place. The foreigner should take his or her passport and rental contract to the local police station in order to get a Registration Form of Temporary Residence. If you are living on LCU campus, it can be processed directly at Office 103 in the International Student Apartment. If you are living off campus, you should process the registration at the local police station by yourself.

Illegally residing in China is a serious violation of the law, which can lead to a fine from 500 RMB yuan to 10,000 RMB yuan per day plus a negative record at the police station.
